A dozen Rock Island High School students were named All-State Musicians by the Illinois Music Educators Association.

Those students are also invited to the IMEA’s all-State Conference, set for January 24 to 26, 2014 in Peoria according to a spokesperson for the Rock Island/Milan School District.

Rocky students selected as All-State musicians this year include band members Alex Lavery, Jennifer Michel, Cole Neder and Andrew Pearson; jazz band member Eli Meek-Bobb; orchestra member Nikolas Jacobs and choir members Jordan Bowden, Christian Colmenares, Antonio Donaldson, Marcus Jackson, Devin James and Hailey Jungjohann.

The Rock Island High School band program is directed by Pete Carlin; the choral program is directed by Scott Voigt; and the orchestra program is directed by Matt Manweiler.
