Several locations have been set up for nature-lovers to see bald eagles during the Quad Cities Bald Eagle Days.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources listed the first event as the Clinton Bald Eagle Watch on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Lock and Dam 13.

The Mississippi River Visitor Center on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, Illinois will have a combination Eagle Watch and Historic Clock Tower Tours from January 11 through February 15.

On January 11 and 12 the QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island will have a live eagle and bird programs, special attractions, an environment fair, and more.

CNN’s Hero of the Year Chad Pregracke was at the event on January 11 with Living Lands and Waters. He said he’s watched Bald Eagle Days grow alongside Living Lands and Waters. The two have helped and complimented each other.

“I feel like Bald Eagle Days is the heart of what I’ve been able to go about doing,” Pregracke said.

Pregracke said the Living Lands and Waters organization is currently planning for 2014.

See and share photos of the bald eagles you spot in the QC Wildlife photo gallery.

There are also events in Ottumwa, Dubuque, Keokuk, and other areas. Visit the Iowa DNR’s website for a calendar of events.
