Davenport man missing since before Christmas

Police say they’re searching for a 45-year-old man who was last seen at his Davenport home December 21, 2013.

Police say they're searching for a 45-year-old man who was last seen at his Davenport home December 21, 2013.

Willis Hughes was last seen at about 11 p.m. that date.

Flyers circulating online say Mr. Hughes was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, white gym shoes and a dark-colored coat.  The flyer says he has a scar that is about three inches long near the back of his neck.

In a notice dated January 6, 2014, police said they did not have a confirmed description of what clothing Mr. Hughes wore when he was last seen.

Mr. Hughes is described as 6'4" tall, about 320 pounds, bald with brown eyes.

A post on a Facebook page dedicated to the search for Mr. Hughes said he was last seen in the area of 7th and Perry in Davenport, and that his vehicles have not been moved and he did not have credit or debit cards with him.  The post said Mr. Hughes' cell phone was last used at his apartment.

The Facebook page also indicates Mr. Hughes takes medication for high blood pressure.

A separate post on that Facebook page indicated Mr. Hughes was despondent since his wife unexpectedly passed away a few days after Thanksgiving.

Anyone with information about Willis Hughes' whereabouts or disappearance is asked to contact Davenport Police Detective Dave Morse at  (563) 888-3533, Detective Sgt. Gil Proehl at (563) 888-2094 or the Station Supervisor at (563) 326-6125.
