Having been in the Quad Cities for nearly four months, the Princess Diana exhibit will remain at the Putnam Museum for another three weeks.
According to the Putnam Museum’s website, the visiting exhibit “Diana, A Celebration” will stay in Davenport through January 26, 2014 due to its popularity. The exhibit was originally set to leave Sunday, January 5.
The Putnam President and CEO Kim Findlay said the museum is one of three places that the public can see the exhibit.
“All of us who were old enough to comprehend what we saw on television remember the Royal Wedding and Princess Diana’s amazing wedding gown,” Findlay said. “This exhibition gives us an opportunity to relive that moment in modern culture as we can literally stand beside her gown with its 25-foot train.”
The exhibit is described to showcase the life and humanitarian work of Princess Diana. It contains 150 objects ranging from her wedding gown and 28 of her designer dresses to family heirlooms.
The items displayed at the Putnam Museum have been loaned from Althorp Estate in England.
