The woman that members of the Davenport community has been searching for has been officially declared a missing person by Davenport Police.
According to a spokesperson from the Davenport Police Department, the public has been asked to help locate 29-year-old Carrie Elaine Olson. Volunteers from the Davenport community organized a search for her on Friday, January 3, 2014.
A post on the Facebook page dedicated to the search for Carrie Olson said no organized searches were planned for Sunday or Monday because of dangerously cold weather conditions in our area.
Officials say an investigation began when Olson did not show up to her job on Monday, December 30, 2013. She is described as 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighing 180 to 200 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Police said she was last seen wearing a grey Iowa Hawkeye sweatshirt with a black hood around 4 p.m. Saturday, December 28 putting gas into her vehicle at the 7-Eleven on 17th Street and 18th Ave. in Rock Island. Officials said she later conducted business at the same store Sunday, December 29 shortly after 3:30 a.m.
