Illinois State Police say they are still looking into the circumstances surrounding a 9-1-1 call for help at the home of a high-ranking Moline Police officer on New Year's Day.
Moline Police responded to the 9-1-1 call about an "alleged disturbance" at the home of Capt. Jerry Patrick and his wife Jill just before 1 a.m. on January 1st after celebrating with friends on New Year's Eve.
Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Chris Endress says the case has been turned over to his agency for review. He says no one was arrested and no new information will be released until an investigation is completed next week and turned over to the Rock Island County States Attorneys office.
Moline Police issued a brief release on the incident yesterday with all inquiries referred to ISP.
In 2004, Patrick was placed on paid leave after an incident in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Moline involving his former wife and a former East Moline police officer.
A 9-1-1 call at the time reported that a woman was screaming, "saying her husband was trying to run her over."
According to police reports at the time, Patrick drove his car directly at his ex-wife and the other man, got out of his car and started a bloody fistfight, drove off to the ex-wife's house and then hid in her garage.
A lieutenant at the time and head of the SWAT team, Patrick's fellow officers blocked off the street and called for negotiators.
He was later taken home by a friend and fellow officer.
No charges were filed in that incident. Patrick was later promoted to Captain on the department.
A spokesperson for the Moline Police Department says Capt. Patrick is currently on vacation and scheduled back to work Monday.
