A couple from Wilton, Iowa died in a crash as they were traveling to see the Hawkeyes play in the Outback Bowl.

Kenneth Behrens, 64, and his wife, Margaret Behrens, 65, were reportedly following other family and friends southbound on Interstate 75 when their SUV was rear-ended by a car about ten miles south of Perry, Georgia late Sunday afternoon, December 29, 2013.

The crash reportedly happened as they came upon slow traffic on the highway.  Both vehicles reportedly both hit a guardrail, and the Behrens’ SUV overturned.

The car driver and a 13-year-old boy traveling with the Behrens’ were reportedly not hurt in the crash.

The Iowa Hawkeyes face the LSU Tigers in the Outback Bowl game January 1, 2014 in Tampa, Florida.
