The most popular names for babies born at Genesis in 2013 are also popular names across the country.

Sophia is once again the most popular name given to girls born at Genesis BirthCenters in Davenport and at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis.  Nineteen girls born at Genesis facilities in 2013 were named Sophia, and it is the most popular baby name for girls in the U.S. according to babycenter.com.

That moved Olivia to the second-most-popular name for girls, with 14 Genesis babies named Olivia in 2013.  Olivia was the most popular name for girls born at Genesis facilities in 2012.

After it was on the Genesis list of baby names in 2011, Liam is the most popular name for boys born at Genesis facilities in 2013.  With 21 newborn boys named Liam, the name choice beat William and Isaac (16 babies each) for the most popular boy’s name.

Liam is the third-most-popular name for boys in the U.S. in 2013.

“While popularity is nice, a few babies born at Genesis in 2013 will have names they won’t be sharing with others in their classes.  Among the less common names given to babies born at Genesis in 2013 were Danatjonzqueen, Johntajia, Monserrat, Demonteez, Jamoliddin, and Quisontro,” said a spokesperson for Genesis.

Top girl baby names at Genesis in 2013:  Sophia (19); Olivia (14); Ava, Elizabeth and Emma (10 each); Addison, Aubrey and Mia (9 each); Ella; and Charlotte.

Top boy baby names at Genesis in 2013:  Liam (21); Isaac and William (16 each); Carter, David and Ethan (15 each); Aiden and Brayden (12 each); Mason (11) and Logan (9).
