Davenport restaurant closes its doors

A surprise for those looking to dine out in Davenport when they found the doors closed on a relatively new restaurant.

Customers pulled up to Pepperjacks Restaurant and Lounge in Davenport expecting to get dinner, but what they found were lights off and a sign saying “Restaurant closed. Thank you for your patronage,” on Friday, December 27, 2013.

It came as a surprise, especially to regular customers who say they had just eaten there days before. Pepperjacks has only been open for a year. Cheddar restaurant was there before, they also closed.

No details have been released yet why the restaurant is closed and if its permanent. The owner couldn’t be reached for a comment.

  • Rick Lundeen says:

What about the workers? Have they been paid? I am sure a lot of them live pay check to pay check and not getting a last pay check will cause them problems.

  • Mike Jordan says:

I’m surprised they lasted as long as they did. The food was average at best. The service was slow. The prices were high. Food portions were small. The owner has been losing money the whole time.
Disappointing because Davenport could use some fresh new businesses.
