Starting December 24, you can track Santa’s flight around the world!
Santa was expected to begin his journey from the North Pole before dawn our time Tuesday, December 24, 2013.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) coordinates the security support for Santa every year. They use radar, satellites and SantaCams to track Santa on his important Christmas travels.
The U.S. military has been helping children track Santa since the mid-1950s.
There are several options available for you to track Santa online this year:
- NORAD online: www.noradsanta.org and check in on Santa as he travels around the world
- iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: NORAD Santa Tracker iTunes app (optimized for iPhone 5)
- Android: Download the Santa Tracker for Android in Google Play

NORAD ran a test flight in advance of Christmas 2013, and it all went according to plan. Watch the test flight video below.
