A young South Carolina man with Down syndrome displays his excitement when he gets the news that he’s going to be a college student.

According to a report by ABC News, 20-year-old Rion Holcombe opened his letter from Clemson University as his parents recorded the moment.

Rion’s father, Danny Holcombe, read the news aloud, “We are pleased to inform you of your acceptance into the Clemson LIFE program.”

Rion, shocked and ecstatic smiled and celebrated the great news.

“He was looking so forward to this,” Danny said, according to GoodMorningAmerica.com. “There are so few slots available for this program and the competition is really steep. He had no idea if he’d get in or not get in.”

Danny said there were just a handful of slots open in the program. Rion will get the opportunity to experience job training, internships, and skills that will help him succeed as he grows older.
