A Bettendorf woman has won the opportunity to meet the man who donated bone marrow to help save her life.
Lori McFate learned on Saturday, December 21, 2013 that she won a contest called Angel MedFlight Holiday Homecoming Contest, which offered to unite loved ones during the holiday season.
McFate was one of five finalists in the contest after she submitted an essay explaining why she’d love MedFlight to bring her donor, Michael Henkel, from Germany to Bettendorf.
McFate has never met Henkel, but she received his bone marrow donation in 2006.
