Even on the darkest day of the year some Quad City kids found reason to celebrate.
The Winter Solstice landed on Saturday, December 21, 2013 and the Family Museum in Bettendorf held a celebration.
Kids were welcome to help with the winter painting event, according to Becky Ortner, the Family Museum’s Education Coordinator.
“It really ties in well with a predicted snowstorm,” Ortner said. “The kids can make and paint a blizzard inside and we may have a real blizzard outside.”
The Family Museum holds “Super Saturday’ events every Saturday.
