The towboat that had been stuck in the Mississippi River in LeClaire for two weeks has been removed.

On Wednesday, December 11, 2013 crews towed the Stephen L. Colby away from LeClaire, Iowa’s shores around 4 p.m.  The boat, which had been stuck since Monday, November 25, 2013, was lifted from the water by salvage crews days prior.

According to CBS Local out of St. Louis, the towboat left LeClaire and began a 350-mile trip to a repair facility in the St. Louis area.
