A Clinton, Iowa man is accused of running his pickup truck into two marked police cars.
A spokesman for the Clinton, Iowa Police Department said two marked squad cars were legally parked facing westbound in the 500 block of Tenth Avenue South just after 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013. No one was in the patrol cars when an eastbound, dark-colored pickup truck reportedly crossed into the westbound lane and struck both patrol cars.
The pickup truck left the scene.
Police said an anonymous tip provided the name of a possible suspect from the wreck. Investigators said the tip helped them find a pickup truck that matched the suspect vehicle description. The truck allegedly had fresh damage consistent with the truck having struck two police cars.
Police said Brent Cromer, 45, of Clinton, was cited for striking an unattended vehicle.
