A bus crash knocked out power for more than 1,200 people in Moline and Rock Island.

Monday night, December 9, 2013, a metro bus and car collided near 4th Street and 5th Avenue in Moline.  The bus traveled onto an embankment where it turned over on its side and hit a power pole.

The driver and one passenger were on the bus, and they were both able to get out safely. One of the passengers in the vehicle had to be taken to the hospital; there was no word on the nature or severity of that person's injuries.

Electricity was restored within a few hours.
