As the sun set and the snow stopped Sunday night, Quad City snow crews hit the streets.

Plows could be seen throughout the day Sunday, but the real work started just after 4 p.m. Sunday night.

Merv Rexroat's team of three snow plow drivers had several businesses to plow Sunday evening.

"We are keeping busy tonight," said Rexroat.

Rexroat's team wasn't the only crew keeping busy.

Snow crews could be seen filling up their trucks at gas stations across the Quad Cities, many with a cup of coffee in their hand ready to battle the brisk night.

Highways in the QC were fairly clear Sunday night after the Illinois Department of Transportation made several rounds through the main intersections.

Just off of the highway, smaller trucks with plows could be seen pushing the snow off of business parking lots.

A joint effort by crews in the Quad Cities to make people's Monday morning commute as smooth and safe as possible.
