The Quad Cities were hit with some chilly temperatures ahead of a light snow expected for the end of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) on Sunday, December 8, 2013 a “weak storm system” is expected to bring 1-3 inches of snow to the area. StormTrack 8 is calling for a “light-fluffy” snowfall.

Counties northwest of the Quad Cities are expected to get a bit more snow, possibly 3-4 inches and are under a winter weather advisory from 6 a.m. – midnight on Sunday, according to the NWS.

Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling as roadways could become slick and snow-covered.
