According to Sauk Valley, Sheley’s trial was originally set for June 2013, was delayed until October, then January 2014, and was again rescheduled for May.

Jeremy Karlin, Sheley’s attorney filed a motion saying the defense’s DNA expert needs more time to analyze the large amounts of evidence.

According to the report, Sheley faces first degree murder charges for the deaths of four people who were found beaten to death in an apartment in Whiteside County roughly five years ago.
