Members of the community gathered to watch a fellow Quad Citian featured on CNN.
A viewing party for the airing of CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute was held as Chad Pregracke the 2013 CNN Hero of the Year was featured on the show. Dozens gathered at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf for the show.
The hero himself made a special thank-you to those who attended for their support.
Pregracke was voted the CNN Hero of the Year because of his work cleaning up the Mississippi River and other American waterways. Since the late 90s nearly 70,000 volunteers have helped him remove over 7 million pounds of garbage from 23 American rivers.
