As of 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 a map provided by Ameren Illinois showed homes in Mercer, Henry, and Knox Counties were without power. About one hour later the outage map showed that nearly all power in this area had been restored.

Together Alpha and Woodhull, Illinois located in Henry County had over 1,000 homes without power. Nearly 500 in New Windsor, located within Mercer County, were impacted.

A spokeswoman from Ameren Illinois said that a squirrel had reportedly gotten into some high power lines and blew some fuses. Repair workers were on site to fix the problem and restore power to the affected areas.
