Officials said that a Wisconsin woman was able to escape her vehicle after it rolled and landed on its roof.

According to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s office, on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2013 at about 10:45 a.m., a woman was traveling west on Route 30 in Whiteside County when she crossed the center line. Attempting to get back in her lane, the 54-year-old over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle.

Police say the vehicle went into the north shoulder of the roadway and then slid down the bank, causing it to roll. The car landed on its roof and came to rest in a drainage ditch.

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s office said that the woman was able to get out of the car without emergency personnel but was taken to an area hospital for examination. There were no other cars involved and “the vehicle was a total loss.”
