An Iowa man is accused of getting into a car wreck while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and fighting with police while naked.

KCRG reported that according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 starting around 3 a.m. 23-year-old Matthew D. Roberts was allegedly driving while intoxicated and hit a guardrail on I-380. Roberts reportedly fled the scene on foot and was later found trying to hitchhike.

Police said Roberts had a blood-alcohol content of .173 percent.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said that while officers were driving Roberts to the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety he began head-butting the squad car cage, causing a large cut to his head, according to the report.

Officers took Roberts to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where he reportedly took off his pants and “caused a scene.” After being discharged from the hospital, Roberts reportedly refused to redress and fought with the deputy, according to KCRG.

Officials say Roberts was taken to the Johnson County Jail and faces charges of second-offense drunken driving and interference with official acts.
