College students display artwork at the Figge

As part of a new display at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, college students will have their work showcased.

As part of a new display at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, college students will have their work showcased.

According to a spokesperson from the museum on Saturday, November 16, 2013 the annual College Invitational exhibit opened. It includes the artwork of students from nine area colleges and universities. Artwork is displayed in the Mary Waterman Gildehaus Community Gallery.

The display features more than 50 pieces of art that were chosen by professors from Ashford University, Augustana, Black Hawk College, Knox College, Monmouth College, Scott Community College, St. Ambrose University, Western Illinois University, and the University of Iowa.

The exhibit was sponsored by Barbara Leidenfrost in memory of her husband, Oscar.
