There are smiles to go along with sunshine in Clinton on Friday.

That's because a ribbon-cutting is a big deal for Data Dimensions and community leaders. It represents at least 130 new jobs in Clinton, Iowa.

"For those folks who are looking for employment, we want to be that employer for them," said Operations Manager Nikki Hardin.

Stacks of computer boxes symbolize the future. On Monday, the $6.5 million project will be ready for business. During the next 90 days, nearly 260 employees will be working here.

"The development company worked with us. They got things done," said owner Mark Bush. "The state worked with us and got things done. Everything moved quickly, including the building."

Data Dimensions is a Wisconsin-based family business. A presence in Clinton for 25 years, it's the largest privately owned company of its kind. It processes everything from insurance claims to medical bills for national clients.

"Their business is really good," said Mike Kirchhoff, Clinton Regional Development Group. "Number two, the workforce is great here. The cost of doing business is low."

These new jobs are great for Clinton and the company. They represent the growth of information technology careers in Iowa.

Just this April, Nikki Hardin was digging in with a ceremonial shovel. After a two-decade career, she's still growing with the company.

"I know our employees are looking very forward to coming to this new facility and have a new workplace to call their home," she said.

Bare work stations will get busy quickly. They'll be able to run two shifts that can process up to two million documents daily.

"Now, it's time for us to do our part," Bush concluded.
