Davenport police serve up Thanksgiving dinner

Davenport Police officers served an early Thanksgiving dinner to the community at the Handicapped Development Center.

Davenport officers took the day to serve dinner to the community.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2013 the Davenport Police Organization held the 27th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Handicapped Development Center.

Davenport Police officers served the classic Thanksgiving delicacies like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes.

“A lot of times what people are exposed to is the exciting or the dangerous part of police work,” said Sgt. Eric Gruenhagen from the Davenport Police Department. “There’s a whole other part of that protecting and caring for our communities and investing in our communities.”

The organization will host its Domestic Violence Christmas Toy Drive on December 14 and 15.
