Police in Dixon, Illinois are searching for two people accused of using counterfeit money at Wal-Mart.

A woman allegedly used 14 phony $20 bills to buy merchandise at the store, at 1640 S. Galena Avenue, October 9, 2013.

Police said the woman had a man with her, and that he also tried to buy items from the store at the same time but he did not complete the transaction.

Loss prevention workers at the store reported the incident to police.  Surveillance cameras in the store captured images of the suspects.

The woman is described as medium build, in her 20s or early 30s and she has white highlights in her hair.  The man with her “appeared to be older” according to police.  He was wearing a baseball cap, maroon t-shirt and dark-colored shorts.

The pair left the store in a dark-colored minivan.

If you can identify the suspects, or if you have information about the incident, you’re asked to call Dixon Police at (815) 288-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 888-228-4488.  Callers can remain anonymous, and a $1,000 reward is possible for information that leads to an arrest.
