High fives for a group of Iowa teachers hitting the court for charity.

The River Valley Optimist Club hosted a charity basketball game featuring the Harlem Ambassadors, a team with a show similar to that of the Harlem Globetrotters, Wednesday night at Pleasant Valley High School. The Ambassadors put on a show of basketball and fun but are not affiliated with the Globetrotters.

The Ambassadors played against a team made up of Pleasant Valley teachers and principals along with Quad City community leaders called the Optimist Slamers.

"They're coming in to enjoy the evening, a good clean family event, and that's one of the things we wanted to do,” Josselyn Smith of the River Valley Optimist Club said. “We thought it was going to be a unique opportunity for the Quad City area, for Bettendorf to do.”

Proceeds from the game support the River Valley Optimist Club's programs for kids.

Their next event is a trivia night on Nov. 23 at the LeClaire Civic Center.
