The Silvis water tower was a top-12 finisher, but not chosen as the 2013 Tank of the Year.
Nearly 200 water tanks and towers from across the country made up the field of contenders in the contest held by Tnemec, the company that makes the paint used to beautify the competing tanks and water towers.
Video on the company’s website showed they received more than 10,600 votes in their online poll.
The water tower in Mt. Vernon, Illinois was named Tank of the Year.
