Victims say Davenport man kidnapped them for money

Three people say they were held hostage and sexually assaulted by a Davenport man who wanted $500.

Three people say they were held hostage and sexually assaulted by a Davenport man who wanted $500.

Davenport Police said 24-year-old Earnest J. Nunley held two women and a man against their will in a Davenport apartment Halloween night, October 31, 2013.  It all started when Nunley allegedly said one of the women owed him $500.

Police said when the woman could not get the money for him, Nunley took cell phones from all three victims before slapping and kicking the woman and hitting her with a pan.

Police said Nunley also slapped and kicked the other woman when she told him she had no money, and that he used a knife to threaten all three victims throughout the night.  Police said the victims were sexually assaulted, and that they were forced to sit still and were not allowed to use the bathroom throughout the night.

Police said Nunley forced the man, at knifepoint, to take him to a gas station and a restaurant before forcing him to drive to a nearby bank and withdraw $500.  As soon as he had the cash, Nunley reportedly got out of the car and fled.

Jail records show Nunley was arrested Monday, November 4, 2013.  He was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery and second-degree sexual abuse.

Nunley was held in the Scott County Jail in lieu of $500,000 cash-only bond.
