Middle school students use math to plan for Halloween

Who knew making Halloween decorations and cookies could help you practice math.

A class at Glenview Middle School in East Moline made decorations and 300 cookies for a Halloween event that was scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Mary Langdon’s special education students said they used math during their trip to the grocery store. Students measured ingredients and calculated how many cookies they would need to make for their party.
