A senior at Moline High School won an award from the American College of Cardiology.

In March of 2013 Pranav Puri submitted a research poster, “The Economic Impact of Appropriate Use Criteria on Volume of PCI Cases and Medical Cost Savings,” to the American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Sessions. After presenting and defending his research to the country’s top cardiologists, professors and researchers, he won the award for best research poster.

Along with Puri’s interest in health care, economics, and economic policy and medicine, the senior serves as the National Honor Society President and the Editor in Chief for Moline High School’s newspaper, Line O’ Type. He also is a four-year member of the Scholastic Bowl, Chess Team, and state qualifier for three years. He has been a Tennis Team tournament qualifier for three years and selected to be on the All-State Tennis Team.

The son of Dr. and Mrs. Sanjeev Puri is a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist.
