Some variations of string cheese have been recalled due to premature spoilage.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, Kraft has voluntarily recalled some of the Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese and String Cheese Twists because they may spoil before their “Best When Used By” dates.

About 735,000 affected products were shipped around the U.S. They have code dates from October 25, 2013 – February 11, 2014.

The “Best By” dates can be found on the back of multi-count packages near the bottom. Cheeses labeled for individual sale have their “Best By” dates on the bottom front of the package.

The FDA said the recall came after several consumers reported that the string cheese products had spoiled.

Consumers who have any of the affected products are advised to not eat it. They should return it to the store where it was bought for an exchange or refund. Customers can also call Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-816-9432 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. EST.
