Sterling works to beat Ottawa for chance in post season

As high school football season is winding down, the Sterling Varsity Football Team is working at a spot in the playoffs.

As high school football season is winding down, the Sterling Varsity Football Team is working at a spot in the playoffs.

The Golden Warriors will play Ottawa on Friday, October 25, 2013 and have to win the game in order to have a chance at making the post season.

“We play some really good teams,” said Head Coach Jon Schlemmer. “At times I think we’ve played really well, and other times we haven’t played as well as we need to.”

Sterling is currently 4-4.

“When we play good we can compete with the best that’s out there,” said Sterling senior, Bryant Lilly. “I think we understand that if we win we get a chance to go in and we need to focus on just that.”

“Overall I’m really happy with our program and the way the kids have been playing,” said Schlemmer. “They come to work every day. A lot of really good kids.”
