More than $70,000 in grants were awarded to 13 local organizations that serve area children.
The grants were awarded by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. RMHC awards the grants annually to organizations with programs that improve the health and well-being of children.
"Through this funding we hope that children will live happier, healthier, more productive lives," said a statement on the RHMC website.
