UPDATE: Davenport leaders have recommended a consulting firm to help rebuild the Credit Island Lodge. However, they are not releasing the name of the company at this time.

A 14 member panel of city leaders made the selection Wednesday, October 23, 2013. However, the panel has to get the firm approved through the city's purchasing and finance department.

The three firms competing for the project were Stanley Consultants, Bracke. Hayes. Miller. Mahon., and Ament Design. The announcement should be made public by next month.

Original Story: Davenport leaders will pick a consulting firm for the new Credit Island Lodge project Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

City leaders set up a task force this summer to figure out what to do with the lodge. Now, they can finally pick a consultant team. The three consulting firms competing for the project are Stanley Consultants, Bracke. Hayes. Miller. Mahon., and Ament Design.

Back in August, the city council decided to rebuild the lodge. The lodge was destroyed by a fire on May 2, 2013. Crews spent several hours battling the blaze that day.

Since the fire, no one's been able to use the lodge. The city is spending more than $1 million in insurance money to re-build it. That will not cost the people of Davenport anything.

The panel will interview different consultants Wednesday and pick one by noon. Construction on the lodge could be done as early as this spring.
