Leaf-ridden yards will not be an issue for Rock Island residents.
Starting on Monday, October 14, 2013 the City of Rock Island is offering free leaf pick-up for residents.
Free leaf bags are available for residents to use during the spring and fall. It is not necessary to be a participant in the Yard Waste Collection Program nor do you have to have a yard waste sticker on the bag of leaves. Click here for a list of locations where leaf bags can be picked up.
Residents may use their own approved paper yard bags. To have leaves collected; place the bags at the normal refuse collection location on your regular collection day. Bags may only contain leaves.
Collection will last all fall until Friday, December 6.
