The passenger of an SUV was killed in an accident in Burlington.
According to the Des Moines County Sheriff, on Saturday, October 12, 2013, an SUV and a tractor pulling a farm implement were traveling westbound on New Highway 34 near Jimtown Road. Around 8:05 p.m. the SUV struck the farm implement. Police say the SUV’s front seat passenger, Emma Ritchey, was killed in the accident.
According to the sheriff, the driver of the SUV had minor injuries and the driver of the tractor was uninjured.
Iowa State Patrol and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident.
