A local version of Dancing with the Stars was held to raise money for local charities.
On Sunday, October 13, 2013 Arthur Murray Dance Studio hosted the first annual Dancing with the Local Media Stars charity event at the Golden Leaf Banquet Center in Davenport.
Each participant chose a charity to dance for. News 8’s Denise Hnytka selected Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities.
Audience members voted for their favorite competitor by filling their ballot box with cash or checks.
Denise placed second in the competition.
