The LeClaire Lions Club hosted the Apple Fest on the River on Sunday, October 13, 2013 on the levee and downtown area.

The family event featured apples and all the things you can make with them. Apple cider, pie, strudel, scones, and other classic apple baked-goods were available. Other non-apple treats were presented as well. Vendors were on site selling pumpkins, copper jewelry, handmade canoes, glass garden art and more.

There was something for everyone, from the cars being shown by the Quad City Antique Car Club, a dunk tank, face painting, apple beanbag toss, and a jump house.

There was an apple pie baking contest and a pie eating contest as well.

Proceeds from the event on Sunday go back to the LeClaire Lions Club. The Lions Club has made donations to the community, including giving to the police and fire departments, and other community sectors like the library, parks and recreation, and they also provide a $1,000 scholarship to a local high school student each year.
