Pedestrians hit in crash on U.S. 150 near Coal Valley, police say

Both lanes on Route 150 were blocked near Coal Valley after a car accident.

Two pedestrians were struck in a crash near Coal Valley on U.S. 150, police say.

According to the Rock Island Deputy, a car collided with two pedestrians on Saturday, October 12, 2013 around 7:15 p.m. The two pedestrians and the driver of the vehicle all were taken to area hospitals.

According to the Coal Valley Fire Chief, the car reportedly lost control near 86th Ave. and the ground cable of a power pole was hit in the crash.

Both lanes on U.S. 150 were blocked after the accident. Shortly before 8:30 p.m., traffic was blocked by police at 78th Ave. and U.S. 150, southeast of the Quad Cities International Airport.

According to the Rock Island Sheriff's Department, the driver of the vehicle was issued four citations.
