Bettendorf officials say their city will no longer offer Saturday leaf drop-off service under the I-74 Bridge, effective immediately.

Declining use of that service contributed to the decision to bring it to an end.

Bettendorf will continue to offer weekly curbside yard waste collection to its solid waste customers.  Those residents can place yard waste in kraft-paper bags with a city-issued yellow sticker on them at the curb for pickup on their regular trash collection day.  Stickers are $1.60 apiece and can be purchased at City Hall as well as at various local grocery, convenience, hardware and garden stores.

Bettendorf residents can also dispose of yard waste at the Davenport Compost Facility for 50-cents per kraft-paper bag.

Bettendorf residents will not be charged for curbside pickup of yard waste from October 14 to November 30, 2013.  There is also no charge for leaf drop-off at the Davenport Compost Facility during that time.
