A local version of Dancing with the Stars is raising money for charity.
Arthur Murray Dance Studio is hosting the first annual Dancing with the Local Media Stars charity event at the Golden Leaf Banquet Center in Davenport.
Each participant chose a charity to dance for and ticket sales will benefit those charities.
News 8’s Denise Hnytka selected Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities.
Winners from the competition will be selected by an audience vote. Audience members can vote for their favorite competitor by filling their ballot box with cash or checks.
At the event there will be a silent auction, general dancing, appetizers and a cash bar. The event is on Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 2 p.m. – 6p.m.
