Police in East St. Louis, Illinois are investigating the death of a newborn baby they think was thrown from a second-story window.
KTVI reports police said they got a report from someone who found the infant boy’s body in the yard of a home at about 10 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013.
Investigators later determined the baby had been born at the home about five hours earlier. Police said the infant’s 23-year-old mother then wrapped the baby in a sheet and threw him out a second-story window.
The woman allegedly told her family she miscarried, and a family member who was looking for the baby discovered him in the front yard.
