There's a new way to explore the Mississippi River.

The Clinton County Conservation Foundation held a grand opening celebration on Sunday, September 29th, 2013 for its new Mississippi River Eco-Tourism Center.

The state-of-the-art center features an 8,000 gallon fish tank along with a reception hall and education center.

"We've got a lot of people right in this area and, of course, they're aware it's there, but they don't actually get up close and personal with it," says Walt Wickham, Director of the Clinton County Conservation Foundation. "Our facility here is to encourage people to go out and explore on their own and learn more about the river.

The Center is located in Camanche, Iowa at the Rock Creek Marina and Campground. Admission is free.
