A helping of food is helping others in the Quad Cities.

On Sunday, September 29th, 2013, Humility of Mary Housing, Inc. held its 4th annual Jazz Brunch at Crow Valley Country Club in Davenport.

Over the last 23 years, the organization has provided supportive housing and services to 742 single families including 1,463 children, who would otherwise be homeless.

Organizers of today's event say the jazz brunch is a major fundraiser for them.

"We are actually affecting change in the lives of two generations at once and I always say that anyone who invests in this program invests in the future of the lives in the families we serve and the return on that investment is just unbelievable," says Sister Mary Ann Vogel with Humility of Mary Housing, Inc.

Sister Vogel says plans are already in the works for next year's jazz brunch.
