The oldest car club in Illinois held their annual car show in the Quad Cities today.

On Sunday, September 29th, 2013, the Quad City's Vintage Rods celebrated 42 years of showing off every make and model. In those 42 years, they've also raised more than $60,000 for the Black Hawk College Foundation, which awards student scholarships.

Around 400 vehicles were on display at Black Hawk's Moline campus. Organizers say a lot has changed over the last four decades.

"One thing that has changed quite a bit is the quality of cars," says Steve Allen, President of the Quad City's Vintage Rods. "The car quality is much higher now. The number of cars is also a lot heavier. People are moving up to the 60s model cars, the 70s, which is what I was driving in the 70s when I was in high school so it doesn't seem like that old to me, but I guess it is now."

There was also an award-winning car at this year's event. Mark Willmans' custom 1956 Buick was on display. The car was a contender at the Detroit Autorama for the Riddler Award and was just voted the "Number 1 Custom Rod" for 2013 by the Good Guys Association.
