Man pronounced brain dead after incident, investigation continues

The investigation is ongoing after an incident left a Mineral, Illinois man brain dead.

According to the Bureau County Sheriff, at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 a 20-year-old man, Brandon Anthony, was involved in an incident where he either fell, exited, or was thrown from a moving vehicle. A witness reported that Anthony was unresponsive at the scene on Central Street.

Police said Anthony was transported to an area hospital before being airlifted to an emergency trauma center.

The Bureau County Republican reported that the Peoria County Coroner confirmed that Anthony was pronounced brain dead on Saturday shortly after 5:30 p.m. He was held on life support in order to complete an organ donor process before an autopsy could be done.

Bureau County Sheriff, John Thompson said an investigation into the incident has led to the arrest of two brothers, 62-year-old Michael Donner and 57-year-old Roger Donner, according to the Bureau County Republican. Both men face charges of possession of cannabis and false impersonation of a peace officer.
