Racers participating in the Quad Cities Marathon events will be running in two states, over three bridges, and there are plenty of places to cheer on runners.

The race begins and ends at 1201 River Drive in downtown Moline. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2013.

Racers will cross from Moline to Bettendorf via the I-74 Bridge and from Davenport to Rock Island on the Centennial Bridge. According to the Quad Cities Marathon event website, both bridges will be open to traffic while the race is going on.

The event website noted that parking will be available at the iWireless Center in Moline.

A spokesperson from the City of Bettendorf said traffic will be allowed to pass through along the race route but lane usage will be restricted. Lincoln Road will be closed to all traffic during the marathon. It is estimated that racers will be off Bettendorf streets by 9:30 a.m.

For spectators, some recommended viewing areas are the start/finish line in Moline, the ends of the I-74 Bridge or the Isle in Bettendorf, The Government Bridge or Lyndsay Park in Davenport, or in the District of Rock Island.
