A Davenport motorist was hurt when their vehicle was struck by a van driven by a 17-year-old being pursued by police.

The chase began when neighborhood enforcement officers from the Davenport Police Department said they saw 17-year-old Cazmiere Deshawn Graves leaving the Goose Creek Heights area.  Graves was wanted for felony assault and gun charges.

Police said they tried to pull over Graves as he drove a blue van on Veterans Parkway west of Eastern Avenue.  Graves allegedly refused to stop and a pursuit began.

Police said Graves drove south on Eastern Avenue and crashed into another vehicle at Shamrock.  The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Graves was arrested.  Police said in addition to his outstanding warrants, they would file new charges against Graves including possession of a controlled substance, felony eluding, reckless driving, driving under suspension and failing to maintain control of a vehicle.

Graves was held in the Scott County Jail.
